My name is Shawna Henderson and I am from Texas. I love to write as it is one of my biggest passions in life. I started this blog to give myself a place to write and express my thoughts about life. I write a lot about the crazy baseball life as well as other interests I may have. I may also throw a poem in or even creative writing because my imagination runs wild 24/7.
A little bit about my relationship, Justin and I met when we were in college. We both played a sport (baseball pitcher/softball outie) that we love tremendously and that passion brought us together. I saw him for the first time in study hall. He immediately caught my eye but did not notice me until the second or third time (haha he will deny that and say he noticed me immediately at freshman orientation). Anyways he saw me and said he needed to know me so we became friends and then a year later began to date. I fell in love with his ambitions and hard work. He was a breath of fresh air for me. Now we have been together for 6 years and have been dominating the baseball life for about 5. His first season was after his draft year with the Cleveland Indians, they did not add him on a team in 2013 because the roster was too full for anymore pitchers. The following season he started with Mahoney Valley Scrappers this was the hardest season for me because I only saw him 2 weeks out of the whole season. The coolest part about this season was that they called him up while his mother and I were visiting so we got to see him in Lake County as a Captain. The next season he stayed with Lake county and that season I was able to stay the whole summer because, I started my career in the educational field which, allowed me to have my summers off with pay (I know it’s the life). His third season he started with the Lynchburg Hillcats and had a great season until the next season he injured his right thumb and was out for a six weeks, this did not stop my honey from dominating when he came back. He has never given up no matter all the crazy obstacles he faces with this demanding sport and career. This season I am not sure where he will end up, but I do know he will give his all and Nolan(our fur baby) and I will be supporting him the whole way.
I am a physical education teacher and coach for a middle school in Garland Texas. I really enjoy what I do as much as I would like to be with Justin, he understands that I have dreams and goals as well. He is extremely supportive of my dreams to become an Athletic Director. I am passionate about females in sports and want to make sure I can continue to help young ladies make their dreams come true through obtaining college scholarships in whatever sport they are passionate about.
I hope you all enjoy reading about my life and my crazy adventures. Thank you for taking the time to read my work! God Bless y’all!
